Contact

I tried using a variety of contact forms here, but none worked. Instead of allowing people to easily reach out to me, the form was flooded with spam, dozens every day. With that in mind, I’m going to take the John Scalzi approach and just post my email address here, with a few caveats listed below:

Email: jimzub@gmail.com This is the best way to contact me.

Social Media: Scroll down that column to the right and you’ll see them all listed under Links.

Newsletter: Read the archives and join right HERE.

I get a lot of legitimate email messages every day and, as long as the spam filter doesn’t separate them, I will probably see your email but, because responding can take a lot of time, I won’t answer some and many others I will answer as short and direct as possible. Please understand that this isn’t me being full of myself, it’s me trying to balance my work and personal life as best I can. I really do deeply appreciate your kind words and support.

Even though I have 40+ free tutorial posts here on the site all about how to make comics and work in the industry, I don’t have time to offer a portfolio review, story/script/pitch critiques, or other one-on-one feedback. If you’ve dug through all those posts and my YouTube channel full of advice, examples, and interviews and have a question that isn’t covered there, feel free to send it my way. If you have a kick-ass pro quality art portfolio or comic you created you think I should see, send over a link (not a big file attachment), but I may not directly respond and probably won’t be able to get you work or find a publisher.

For both legal and personal reasons, I do not want your unpublished story concepts for superheroes, sword & sorcery, or other genre-anything. Seriously. If I read a message and it starts down that path, I’ll instantly delete it and add you to my email block list. Yes, I’ve worked with other writers on a few projects, but those were either well-established personal friends or were arranged by a publisher. I’m not looking to collaborate with a random person contacting me out of the blue.
